The Model Un(united nation) adventure

On Wednesday, May 4, 2011 our 8th period class arrived at school early in the morning. We had to dress really profesional. In case, you didn't know Model Un stands for United nations. Ms. Trenkle had us   doing a protect about differnt subject such as refuges and immigrants and HIV & AIDS. So they put them to different subject in differnt rooms I was in refuges and Immigrants.It was Japria and Meeka and we worked on HIV/AIDS in Bolivia. It was our first time going to Model Un.

We both learned how to write about position papers. It was  for a point of personal privileges, and more. We enjoyed the experience of working with other students to come up with solutions to solve the world's problems.ith solutions to solve the world's problems. One thing none of liked  was that it was freezing in the room and that made it hard to focus. We was falling asleep. In future reference, we should be able to ask to turn the heat on and off. We still was trying to figure out why we didn't have cookies with our sandwhich. But, other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.

Opinion on Standardized History Do you agree or Disagree

I think it is bad to have standardized test for history. I think it is bad because people forget more things about history then they do for math and English. I don't really like to many test because its to much pressure for me do, having to prepare in class and remembering things is just to much. I honestly feel that National History Day was a test because we had to do research on certain topics. But I'm kinda glad of not taking testes for history. We get learn about things in class. We already take test and quizzes in history. That's just to much stress on me.These days it's just to much. That's why I don't think we should test in history.

Our amazing trip to the I am Museum

Today on April the 12th, our class Alice Paul went with Mr. Garner's class to attend a National Geographic exhibit called *America I Am: The Black American Imprint. The title of the exhibit had many meanings that had a lot to do with the black community. The title overall was basically saying how blacks were apart of America even during a time of great prejudice and inequality which was common, mostly in southern states.

The overall trip to the museum was amazing. It was the most wonderful and creative Exhibit we been to.This was an important trip to attend because it is showing not only black history but American history as well. This exhibit makes you realize what black people has done for us. Since, then we have had more freedom.

We had a visitor name Mr. Justin. Mr. Justin was a nice man who decided on who go to citywide. We actually did win first place for unit 3. Most of us answered questions very well.
